WHERE IS LIVE AT THE LOCH?​

 

Live at the Loch is in Tarbert, Argyll, on the west coast of Scotland. The postcode is PA29 6TR.

There are no trains or planes to Tarbert, but you can arrive by car, bus or ferry.

How to get here

Bike 

Cycling is a great way to reach and explore Tarbert, with quiet roads and scenic routes throughout Argyll. Many cyclists choose to combine Live at the Loch with the Five Ferries Challenge for an unforgettable weekend on two wheels.

Bus 

The 926 Citylink bus, one of Scotland’s most scenic journeys, runs from Glasgow five times a day, with the midday service calling at Glasgow Airport. Booking is strongly recommended, especially during the festival weekend.

Car

If driving, take the M8 over the Erskine Bridge and follow signs for the A83 to Campbeltown via the A82 along Loch Lomond to Tarbert. Please note we are in TarbeRt, not TarbEt!

FERRY

If you are driving or cycling and wish to travel by ferry, there are three options:

  • Ardrossan to Brodick, then Lochranza to Claonaig with CalMac

  • Ardrossan to Campbeltown with CalMac

  • Gourock to Hunter’s Quay with Western Ferries, then Portavadie to Tarbert with CalMac

Cyclists may wish to combine Live at the Loch with the Five Ferries Challenge for an unforgettable weekend.

FLY

You can fly from Glasgow to Campbeltown. Campbeltown Airport is under 40 miles away via the stunning A83 North Atlantic Coast route.

KAYAK

Sea kayakers can arrive via the Argyll Sea Kayak Trail, a spectacular coastal route along Scotland’s west coast. With launch points and sheltered waters around Loch Fyne, Tarbert makes an ideal stop for paddlers travelling the trail. 

SAIL

Tarbert Harbour Marina can accommodate over 200 vessels, with similar capacity at Portavadie on the opposite side of Loch Fyne, linked by ferry. Full details are available from Tarbert Harbour Trust and Portavadie.

WALK

Walkers may wish to tie in their visit with the Kintyre Way, a spectacular coastal and cross-country route stretching to the Mull of Kintyre.

 

Whichever way you arrive here you will receive the warmest welcome to Scotland’s most beautiful Music Festival.
